440C Stainless Steel Plate Description
440C stainless steel plate is a high-carbon, martensitic stainless steel known for its outstanding hardness, wear resistance, and moderate corrosion resistance. With a high chromium content, it offers excellent strength and edge retention, making it ideal for applications such as bearings, cutlery, surgical instruments, and tooling. This steel grade can achieve a hardness of up to 60 HRC through heat treatment, ensuring superior durability and resistance to abrasion. While its corrosion resistance is lower than that of austenitic stainless steels, it performs well in mild corrosive environments. 440C stainless steel also features good machinability in the annealed condition. Widely used in industrial and mechanical applications, it provides long-lasting performance where high strength and wear resistance are required.
